Revised IRB-ITHS Application Form
The Institutional Review Board-Institute of Translational Health Sciences (IRB-ITHS) joint application (formerly IRB-SAC application) is being revised as the result of requirements set by the Clinical Translational Science Award (CTSA). Working together, the IRB and ITHS have completed these revisions, which represent improvements that will streamline the application process. Researchers may begin to use the revised application (DOC 522KB) now in submitting a new study for review (and the ITHS would encourage researchers to do so for the purposes of providing feedback). However, use of the revised application will not be required until October 2008.

Revision Highlights:

  • Elimination of sections that are no longer relevant under the CTSA.
  • Consolidation of duplicate information requests.
  • Additional services now offered through the CTSA are incorporated into the section devoted to ITHS use (Section 19 of application).

The IRB-ITHS application revisions are part of a revised submission process for accessing the Children’s Pediatric Clinical Research Center, ITHS, Clinical Research Center Network (CRCN), and associated resources, which has been implemented and is posted at the ITHS Web site at: http://www.iths.org/ResearchResources/Applications/default.aspx.
